# Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB)

The **Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB)** is the primary agency tasked with the investigation, prevention, and prosecution of federal crimes within the jurisdiction of San Andreas. Operating under the authority of the **T2 Department of Justice**, the FIB plays a critical role in enforcing the laws outlined within the SA **Federal Law Code**, particularly in the areas of organized crime, terrorism, cybercrime, national security, and interstate criminal activity.

**Responsibilities of the FIB:**

1. **Investigation of Federal Crimes**: The FIB is responsible for investigating crimes that fall under federal jurisdiction, such as racketeering, terrorism, homicides, large-scale drug trafficking, and money laundering.
2. **Counter-Terrorism and National Security**: The FIB works closely with agencies to prevent and investigate acts of terrorism, espionage, and any other threats to the state’s security.
3. **Cybersecurity Enforcement**: The FIB handles cases related to cybercrime, including hacking, data theft, and online fraud that affects federal infrastructure or falls under federal statutes.
4. **Interstate and Transnational Crime**: The FIB has jurisdiction over criminal activities that cross state lines or involve international elements, including trafficking networks, smuggling, and cross-border conspiracies including those carried out in **Cayo Perico.**
5. **Collaboration with Other Agencies**: While the FIB operates under the federal system, it frequently collaborates with local law enforcement, including the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) and other specialized law enforcement entities, to address crimes that may involve both state and federal offenses.

**Jurisdiction and Authority:**

The FIB is empowered by federal law to carry out its investigations, make arrests, and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies. This agency has exclusive jurisdiction over specific cases outlined in the SA **Federal Law Code**, particularly those involving national security, terrorism, and other high-level offenses.

The **Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB)** ensures that the legal framework established by the LS Federal Law Code is enforced throughout the jurisdiction, providing the necessary tools and authority for maintaining public safety and national security.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://doj.secondliferp.com/legislation/doj-legislation/federal-law-code-overview/federal-investigation-bureau-fib.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
