# Gang Cool Downs

If you've been blooded out of a gang, you're automatically put on a 7-day cool down.

This means zero conflict while you're with the gang you are trying to join till the 7-day cool down period, as ending it will result in a punishment.

## Gang Bleed-Out Rule <a href="#gang-bleed-out-rule" id="gang-bleed-out-rule"></a>

* If someone is being removed from a gang — known as being “bled out” — it must be done correctly and with finality. This isn’t just a casual kick-out; it’s treated as a death sentence within gang life. The following rules apply:

## Making It Official <a href="#making-it-official" id="making-it-official"></a>

* To properly bleed someone out, it must be clear that the character is done for in the gang world. This means they must be considered dead on arrival (DOA) through one of the following in-character actions: • The person is killed in a way that is fully witnessed by at least one gang member — no mystery deaths. • Their body is dumped in the ocean or otherwise disposed of in a way that leaves no doubt they’re gone. • Any other realistic, conclusive method that leaves no room for the character to return to the gang world. This must be roleplayed thoroughly and thoughtfully. Half-baked or vague bleed-outs won’t count.

## Cooldown Period <a href="#cooldown-period" id="cooldown-period"></a>

* Once a character has been bled out: • They must wait 7 full days before joining another gang. • During that time, they cannot participate in any gang-related activity whatsoever. That includes gang wars, gang meetings, turf disputes, or acting under gang orders. • The character can still do solo or small-team crime — robberies, hustling, etc. — but they must operate as an independent.

## No Shortcuts or Workarounds <a href="#no-shortcuts-or-workarounds" id="no-shortcuts-or-workarounds"></a>

* Being bled out means the character’s ties to gang life are completely severed. If someone is caught trying to sneak back into gang life, act as a “ghost member,” or use another character to bypass this rule, it will be treated as fail-RP, and staff will intervene and take action.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://doj.secondliferp.com/second-life-rp/gang-rules/gang-cool-downs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
